Rethinking 1st Option Safety’s brand story
1st Option Safety is a leading provider of health and safety to the film and TV industry in the UK. They’ve worked on a whole host of recent productions, including HBO's Chernobyl, Call the Midwife, and Derry Girls.
When the company approached us, they had just revamped their website and needed help with their content.
Before starting producing the content, we took a step back and did some research to identify problems: we found that the company wasn’t sure whether their clients were aware of the full range of services. They also recognised the existence of some friction in productions as health and safety inspections were often seen as an annoying restriction to creativity, a hindrance rather than a help.
a repositioning exercise
With these findings in mind and after some market research and competitive analysis, we saw an opportunity to articulate the brand narrative around the idea of being an ‘enabler’: a company that could come on board and help creative teams push boundaries and take their production further.
We developed new messages with them that reflected this, and a brand voice that showed their expertise without being preachy or too technical. We also refreshed sections of their website and created a brochure that showed how their services benefited their customers.
